Romtelecom and Cosmote to switch To T branding of Deutsche Telekom starting autumn
Romtelecom and Cosmote Romania are to complete the rebranding process in order to adopt the T branding profile of German group Deutsche Telekom, owning 40 per cent of Greek OTE Grup, the major shareholder of telecommunication services company. 2014-05-30 18:41:07
The rebranding takes into account the T-Mobile name for Cosmote services while for Romtelecom, the discussions include the name of T-Home. Romtelecom is controlled by the Greek group OTE, with 54.01 percent stake and the Romanian state with 45.99 per cent.
Also, Romtelecom owns 30 percent stake in Cosmote Romania. The rebranding states for the preparatory stage of the merging process of Cosmote-Romtelecom. The Romanian state plans to sell its stake within Romtelecom by a planned listing on BSE. In 2013 yearend, Romanian Ministry of Information Society (MCSI) has appointed a consortium headed by Swiss Capital to oversee the complete privatization of the Romanian incumbent Romtelecom.
