GDF SUEZ rebrands to ENGIE also in Romania
GDF SUEZ Energy Romania announces the change of its trademark in Romania to ENGIE. The adoption of this new brand in Romania occurs as a natural step in the international rebranding process of GDF SUEZ into ENGIE, carried out under the motto:As the world changes, all energies change with it, and announced by the Group on April 24th, 2015, shows a release received by The Diplomat-Bucharest. 2015-09-23 12:06:32
"The trademark change is carried out in the context where the world of energy is undergoing profound change and the energy transition has become a global scale priority characterized by more focus on reducing energy consumption thanks to energy efficiency and the digital revolution, less carbon-intensive energy and the development of renewable energy sources," ENGIE officials said.
The new brand ENGIE conveys a human, positive and forward-looking vision of energy, by means of both the graphic representation of the logo and the colour used that represents both natural gas and electricity. The new logo represents a rising sun, symbolizing a new day in the world of energy. The name ENGIE was chosen for its resonance as the contraction of the word "energy". The baseline signature "By people for people" will be kept, gaining an even more significant meaning in a context where energy solutions are developed together with stakeholders and customers, the release reveals.
"After 10 years of presence in Romania, we are ready to take a new step in the company evolution by rebranding GDF SUEZ as ENGIE. The brand change will help our local positioning, which consists in developing solutions to improve energy efficiency by means of consumption reduction as well as digital tools facilitating access to our products and services for our customers. We believe that these changes will bring added value to the trust capital acquired until now and will contribute to the success of the ENGIE brand in Romania'' states Eric Stab, Chairman and CEO of GDF SUEZ Energy Romania.
In Romania, the rebranding process will take place in two stages: in a first step, GDF SUEZ Energy Romania will adopt the ENGIE brand for the products and services sold by the company, whose activity is to supply natural gas, electricity and technical services. The company's name will remain unchanged until a date to be later announced.
In a second step, the rebranding process will be adopted for the subsidiaries of GDF SUEZ Energy Romania : Distrigaz Sud Reţele, Distrigaz Confort, Brăila Winds and Alizeu Eolian.
