Hoyt Yee: Romania, a model of anti-corruption in the region

Hoyt Brian Yee, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, said on November 25 that the bilateral strategic partnership of Romania and USA is very solid and delivers strong development potential, adding that Romania became a model of anti-corruption in the region. The statement has been made at the ceremony of celebration of 135 years of the diplomatic relationship of Romania and USA, at the fourth "Task Force" reunion for the implementation of the "Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership for the 21st Century of Romania and USA". Following a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Romania, Hoyt Yee added that the development of the two counties' Strategic Partnership agreement has to be designed in the perspective of regional happenings, mentioning the recent security risks in Europe. In his turn, the US Ambassador in Romania, Hans Klemm, said that the objective of developing the economic dimension of the partnership is assumed by the Romanians at the highest level and noted that the current Government program creates all the necessary conditions for its materialization.
