Number of employees working in modern offices in Bucharest and large cities expected to reach 300.000 by yearend
According to the latest research conducted by real estate consultant DTZ Echinox, the modern office spaces in Bucharest and large regional Romanian cities accommodate over 250.000 professionals in the first half of this year, with the number expected to reach 300.000 by yearend. 2016-09-28 17:17:13
At the end of the first half of this year, Bucharest totaled 216.661 employees working in A and B class offices, with 12.000 more compared to the same interval of 2015. According to the study, the Northern area of Bucharest, represented by a large cluster of office buildings (Pipera Sud (Dimitrie Pompeiu), Barbu Vacarescu-Floreasca) and Western city area registered the largest increase.
Pipera Sud posted 40.000 employees, Barbu Vacarescu-Floreasca follows with 36.000 employees while the Western Bucharest's offices surpassed 30.000 at the end of H1 2016. The office areas with the largest sqm per capita indicator are located in the traditional business center of Bucharest (Center and North-Center), while the smallest rate of sqm per capita is located in Pipera Sud (Dimitrie Pompeiu), where the main professional operations are dedicated to the back office segment.
Mihaela Galatanu, Head of Research DTZ Echinox: "Unlike Bucharest, where the highest number of professionals working in modern spaces are located in the central areas, the situation differs in the other Romanian cities. Following the estimates, based on the delivery volume announced for the second half of this year and the vacancy rate registered at the end of H1 2016, we expect 300.000 professionals to work in modern spaces by yearend."
